Beaumont Hospital faced challenges with an inefficient filing system that impeded healthcare workers’ ability to access patient records promptly and effortlessly. As a result, staff resorted to maintaining paper records, which were stored off-site. Retrieving these files for returning patients or legal claims required a time-consuming process, involving physically obtaining the file from the archives and dispatching it via courier.
The Solution
Ergo’s Scan & Index Manager was employed to digitize and index documents within Microsoft SharePoint, greatly simplifying the process of searching for and retrieving information. The implementation was meticulously planned and risk-free, with Ergo initially constructing the system at their headquarters to replicate the Beaumont environment off-site before deploying it within the hospital.
